1.Who this applies to

This Acceptable Use Policy applies to everyone who uses ArtSide, and forms part of our Terms of Service. It covers what you upload, what you prompt, what you generate, what you store in your gallery, what you download and what you send for printing.

The short version: use ArtSide lawfully, respect other people's rights, and do not use it to harm, deceive or exploit anyone.

2.Child safety — absolute prohibition

You must never use ArtSide to create, upload, request, transform, store or share:

  • child sexual abuse material of any kind, real or synthetic;
  • sexual or sexualised depictions of minors, including stylised, cartoon or AI-generated depictions;
  • images that sexualise a real child, or that place a real child's likeness into sexual or suggestive content;
  • content intended to groom, exploit or endanger a child;
  • prompts, techniques or workarounds intended to evade child-safety controls.

We treat this category with zero tolerance. Accounts are terminated immediately, and we report to the relevant authorities where the law requires or clearly justifies it.

3.Non-consensual and sexual content

  • No non-consensual intimate imagery, including nudifying or undressing a real person.
  • No sexual deepfakes or sexualised depictions of real, identifiable people without their clear consent.
  • No sexualised impersonation of a real person.
  • No sharing or threatening to share intimate images of someone in order to coerce, humiliate or extort them.

[REQUIRES BUSINESS DECISION — confirm ArtSide's policy on lawful adult content generally; the current beta policy prohibits it where it is non-consensual, unlawful or involves minors.]

4.Real people, likeness and deepfakes

ArtSide can transform photographs of real people, and ordinary creative, artistic, satirical and personal uses are welcome where they are lawful and clearly not deceptive.

You must not use ArtSide to:

  • create realistic depictions of a real person doing or saying something they did not do, where that is intended or likely to deceive;
  • impersonate a person or organisation for fraud, harassment, unlawful gain or reputational harm;
  • fabricate evidence, documents, news or endorsements;
  • breach someone's privacy, image, publicity or personality rights, or a court order.

Public figures are not exempt from the deception, harassment and rights rules simply because they are public.

5.Political and civic content

Ordinary political expression, commentary and satire are permitted, and this policy is applied without regard to viewpoint.

You must not use ArtSide for materially deceptive civic content, including fabricated evidence of electoral events, false statements about how, when or where to vote, content intended to suppress voting, fake official communications, or unlawful impersonation of candidates, officials or public bodies.

6.Fraud, scams and deception

  • No scams, fraudulent offers, fake giveaways or investment deception.
  • No forged or altered identity documents, passports, licences, certificates, invoices, receipts or official seals.
  • No counterfeit goods, packaging, labels or brand materials.
  • No fabricated screenshots, evidence or proof intended to deceive a person, platform, insurer, employer or court.

7.Violence, hate, extremism and harassment

  • No content that promotes, glorifies or facilitates terrorism, violent extremism or mass violence.
  • No content that incites or facilitates serious unlawful violence, or that provides instructions for causing serious harm.
  • No unlawfully hateful content, or content that dehumanises or degrades people because of a protected characteristic.
  • No harassment, bullying, threats, stalking or targeted abuse of an individual.
  • No gratuitously graphic or shocking imagery of real violence or real victims.

8.Illegal activity, privacy and surveillance

  • No use of ArtSide to plan, carry out, advertise or conceal criminal activity.
  • No unlawful exposure, identification, tracking or profiling of individuals, including doxxing.
  • No unlawful surveillance or biometric identification of people from images.
  • No unlawful processing of other people's personal data through the Service.

9.Security and platform abuse

You must not:

  • create or distribute malware, phishing pages, credential-theft material or similar cyber-abuse content;
  • attempt to access another user's account, images, uploads or data;
  • attempt to obtain private storage paths, signed links or server secrets;
  • circumvent credit charges, subscription limits, safety filters or rate limits;
  • scrape, automate or exploit the service or its APIs beyond normal product use;
  • reverse engineer protected parts of the Service, except where the law expressly permits it;
  • interfere with the availability, integrity or performance of the Service for others.

10.Other people's intellectual property

Do not upload, prompt for or distribute content that infringes copyright, trademarks, designs, database rights or moral rights, including reproducing protected artwork, photographs, characters, logos or brand identities without permission.

Rights holders can report infringement to [INSERT IP / RIGHTS COMPLAINTS EMAIL]; see the Terms of Service for what to include.

11.How we enforce this policy

ArtSide runs automated safety checks at three points: on your prompt before a generation starts, on photographs you upload before they are registered, and on every generated image before it is stored or added to your gallery. These checks are performed by an automated classifier; the Privacy Notice explains what data is sent and how it is handled.

If a check cannot be completed — for example because the safety service is temporarily unavailable — the request is refused rather than allowed through unchecked. You can simply try again later.

Content that breaches this policy is blocked or removed. Where automated checks identify suspected child sexual abuse material or similarly serious illegal content, the image is deleted immediately and permanently; we do not retain it, and we refer the matter to the appropriate authorities where the law requires or clearly justifies it.

Automated blocks are recorded as moderation incidents and reviewed by our team. An automated block on its own does not put a strike on your account — a blocked prompt can be a harmless false positive. Strikes are issued only where a human reviewer confirms a violation or where abuse is repeated. Depending on the seriousness, we may issue a warning, block or remove content, refuse a generation, restrict features, suspend an account, terminate an account permanently, or refer a matter to law enforcement.

Serious categories — especially child safety and non-consensual intimate imagery — result in immediate termination without warning.

Credits are handled separately from safety decisions: if a generation, edit or print preparation is blocked or fails, the reserved credits are automatically returned to your balance. Moderation is imperfect and we cannot promise that every prohibited image is detected or prevented.

Our Moderation FAQ explains the checkpoints, what is blocked, and how to appeal a flag in plain terms.

12.Reporting and appeals

To report content or behaviour that breaches this policy, email [INSERT ABUSE REPORTING EMAIL] with as much detail as you can safely provide.

If you believe an enforcement decision against your account was wrong, email [INSERT ABUSE REPORTING EMAIL] and ask for a review. We will look at the decision again and tell you the outcome. The Moderation FAQ describes the appeals process, what to include, and what happens next.

We aim to acknowledge abuse reports and respond to appeals within 5 working days.
